die bank (the bench)

Along the façade, at the height of the lowest course runs a 20-meter-long orange steel band. With a height and depth of 30cm it is a bench just right for sitting on. One can sit and rest, relax and chat, and not only on opening nights of the Kunstarkaden (art arcades).

Steel facing has been mounted into the niches of the entrance doors so that one gains the impression the bench is accompanying the visitor into the Kunstarkaden. This two-part band will become the trademark of the Kunstarkaden.

Part of the design of the façade is also the apt logo which develops from the form of the band.
