award of change

The award of change is an award for individuals or organizations who instigate changes in established societal structures. The artist Lucia Dellefant bestows this prize on those who have the courage to re-think established rules and to remodel rigid mechanisms. Living a life of peace, freedom and social justice is becoming ever more endangered by economic and political interests. personal commitment can arrest this development. With the prize award of change, Lucia Dellefant – herself a recipient of stipends and prizes – breaks with an accustomed ritual as generally artists do not give prizes – they receive them.

The award of change is available in silver and in gold.

Anyone can buy the award of change in silver for themselves. Meanwhile the golden statue will be awarded by Lucia Dellefant and is donated with 1000.- Euro.

The silver one can be given to friends as an accolade or encouragement or be understood as a prize for oneself. For a personal award ceremony, Lucia Dellefant has created a space installation with podiums and text boards.

The golden change, however, is awarded to an individual or organization once a year by Lucia Dellefant and donated with euro 1000.-.

The winners are:

2005 the organisation attac  for their efforts with regard to the tobin tax.

2006 the non profit organisation Seniorengenossenschaft Riedlingen e.v. (senior citizens’ cooperative, a registered charity in riedlingen) which introduced the care currency “time”.

2007 the organistation Business Crime Control for their fight against corruption in the economy.

2008 Klaus Seiler for his change and new way in teaching at school.

2009 Yann Arthus-Bertrand the commitment to goodplanet. Particularly the project goodplanet-junior fulfils the criteria of the award as it presents possibilities to coming generations of changing their behaviour in dealing with nature.

2010 Arbeitsgruppe alternative Wirtschaftspolitik. Since many years the organisation shows alternative ways of econonic policy.

2011 Green City ev they show since more than 20 years how to practice environment protaction in our daly life with a lot of humor! And they invented a second company which helps municipalities to become independet of big energy combines by using more and more renewable energy.
