NÁŠ DŮM (OUR HOUSE)

For the festival "Im Zentrum" Lucia Dellefant create the project NÁŠ DŮM (OUR HOUSE).The aim of this project is to invite the citizens of Jesenik to develop suggestions for the further use of the former city library. They can then vote for the project they like the most. The favorite projects selected can then use the premises for at least one year free of charge while they turn their idea into reality.

 

 

 

 

 

 

From Oktober 2019 for four months, a multi-functional moveable sculpture installed on the Hauptplatz in Jesenik will provide information on the participation process and will serve as a public collection box for concept suggestions. Later, during two weeks in the spring of 2020 on an online platform, citizens can select their favorite project. 

OUR HOUSE stands for a grass-roots democratic process in which citizens can determine the allocation of public funds, however without the decision-making powers of the local council, while at the same time directly shaping their own environment.

Multifunctional sculpture


Almost 300 citizens took part in the vote from 4th to 13th May participate on the Internet. You could choose three out of seven suggestions. The "Transformation" project won.The individual suggestions can be viewed here.

 

 

 




The award winners, here on the left next to the Mayor of Jesenik, want to establish a leisure home for young people from Jesenik. There are spaces for learning and relaxing together, for creative activities and a small cafe. In August, the winners want to set up the rooms for their purposes and the first youngsters are expected to take advantage of the offers in September 2020.
